if only...

once upon a time i enjoyed a leisurely existence that allowed me to regularly update this thing. alas, circumstances have become such that i find myself preoccupied at the moment and fear that i may remain in this state for the foreseeable future. at any rate, rest assured that i am still here, keeping the tepid dream alive along with the rest of the team.

the sultans of ecstasy
this is by no means an endorsement of myspace.com, but it is certainly one of the easiest and most popular free ways to post music on the internets. this demo was recorded in july at the "tortilla factory" (or whatever it ends up being called) as a way to generate future gigs. you can contact us through the website if you like.

onsen masters
we here at tepid industries congratulate the good folks over at the way of the hot springs, particularly master joel and young master jude. they have hit their target of sampling not 1 or two but 88 onsen in under 18 months. a hearty "o-me" to the whole organization, especially shiho and jeff for their support.

from freedom to fascism
this interview with Aaron Russo was brought to our attention by the good folks at deconsumption. it's much more concise than the 3+ hours of the money masters, yet very powerful.
so watch the interview and keep your eyes peeled for the movie. it is an order.

meanwhile, in egypt...
Congratulations to Jim Grippo on publishing his article The Fool Sings a Hero's Song: Shaaban Abdel Rahim, Egyptian Shaabi, and the Video Clip Phenomenon in Transnational Broadcasting Studies. In this article, Jim writes about "the political video clips of Shaaban Abdel Rahim, including songs with titles like "I Hate Israel" and his recent video clip, "All Out of Patience," written in response to the Danish cartoons lampooning the Prophet Mohammad."
We here at tepid industries wish Jim and his family all the best as they continue to live and work in Egypt and we're looking forward to your return later this year, en shah allah.
